The lights dimmed in JQH Arena as it was time to announce the Missouri State Lady Bears' starting lineup.
The names Danielle Gitzen, Aubrey Buckley, Alexa Willard, Brice Calip and Liza Fruendt were rattled off and followed by the names of the coaches.
But one name, in particular, brought the crowd’s cheers to a roar — Jackie Stiles.
Wearing a patch over her left eye, she met the crowd’s cheers with a smile and a quick wave.
