CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – It would be easier – and a much shorter list – to detail the things that Missouri State’s football team did right on Saturday afternoon.
The list would start with the fact that they made the trip safely, and … that’s pretty much it.
All the gains made by the Bears through the first six games of Dave Steckel’s second season were washed away in a tide of purple celebrations during Northern Iowa’s 61-7 rout at the UNI-Dome.
After the last two weeks, which saw competitive losses at home to nationally ranked North Dakota State and Western Illinois, this was supposed to be the time for Missouri State to visit its big nemesis and maybe, just maybe, end this long drought.
