Former Missouri State standout Kyle Weems was in Springfield this week for his annual basketball camp The Courts E-Zone.
Weems, 27, spent last season playing professional basketball for Besiktas Sompo Japan in Istanbul, Turkey. He will play for the same team next season on the second year of a two-year contract.
Weems and his wife Jacque, a former MSU Lady Bears player, are going back to Turkey at the end of the summer with their 1-year-old son Kyrie.
The former Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year sat down with the News-Leader on Wednesday to discuss life in Turkey, fatherhood, playing small forward and his thoughts on the NBA.
