First baseman John Nogowski walked around the Springfield Cardinals clubhouse Wednesday with a big smile on his face.
Why not?
Four months ago, the Florida State product didn't have a team. Now, he is hitting third in the lineup for the St. Louis Cardinals Double-A affiliate.
"I think I have had a pretty good start, a little bit better than I would have imagined," Nogowski said. "I think that’s one thing with baseball, you have to bring that confidence every single night."
Despite a productive first three years in the minor leagues, Nogowski was cut by the Oakland Athletics organization in March.
