Drury’s run in the NCAA-II Tournament came to an end Saturday.

The Panthers (37-20) couldn’t get anything going with the bat or take advantage with runners on for the second straight day as they lost to Wayne State 5-2 in Midland, Michigan.

“We couldn’t get that big hit when we needed it,” Drury head coach Scott Nasby said in a press release. “We had runners on but couldn’t capitalize. Even with one out, we weren’t able to move guys around the bases. (Austin) Simms was tremendous and we had a chance to win.

“With a couple of swings and with a couple of balls that bounce a different way, we probably would have had a different result.
