Alex Smith has less than a week before the Kansas City Chiefs open offseason workouts.
He spent one of his last nights of the offseason visiting kids at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Springfield, and then served as the keynote speaker at the club’s 21st Annual Steak and Steak Dinner at University Plaza Convention Center.
The cause was a “no-brainer” for Smith, who has his own foundation in Kansas City specifically geared toward helping foster children.
Smith earned first team All-American honors at Utah in 2004.
