The Mississippi State baseball team making it to a regional was supposed to simply be icing on the cake. The team had gone through so much turmoil throughout the season with then Head Coach Andy Cannizaro resigning in disgrace and the team getting off to a 2-7 start in SEC play, simply getting to a regional was a big surprise itself.
So when the Mississippi State baseball team lost the regional opener and faced a 2-0 deficit against FSU entering the 9th inning, it was hard to be too upset.
