Big Dawg Camp yields first commitment

Last year, Mississippi State’s Big Dawg Camp resulted in eight commitments.

Things are already off to a fast start as three-star athlete Korey Charles chose the Bulldogs before registration even began.

Charles also owned offers from Clemson, Florida State, Louisville, LSU, Miami, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Penn State, South Florida and Wisconsin.

The 5-foot-11, 173-pounder from Tallahassee, Fla., is rated the nation’s No. 22 athlete by 247Sports.com and is expected to play cornerback at MSU.

As a junior, Charles totaled 1,571 all-purpose yards and 11 touchdowns. He carried 227 times for 1,120 yards and 10 touchdowns and had six 100-plus yard games on the ground.
