PG Malik Newman Officially Commits to Mississippi State

Malik Newman, the number 1 rated point guard in the 2015 class, according to 24/7 recruiting, was considered the top player in the country for many weeks. However, Newman is now only the 8th-ranked player nationally at this point. The 6′ 3″, 174 lb point guard from Callaway High School in Jackson, MS, has been one of the most consistent players in the country. Already getting comparisons of Michael Jordan and Lebron James as a program-changer. He is expected to raise the Mississippi State men’s basketball squad to a whole other level.

With the arrival of Ben Howland, who coached Malik Newman’s role model, Oklahoma City Thunder’s Russell Westbrook, Mississippi State fans felt a rejuvenation in their hopes for landing the Callaway guard.
