Ole Miss’ Evan Engram was the leading receiver nationally among tight ends in 2016, with the Rebels putting his ability to get open against linebackers and safeties to good use. That ability likely will serve him well at the next level, too.
NFL.com draft analyst Bucky Brooks was extolling Engram’s virtues Tuesday on the first day of Senior Bowl practices.
“I do believe there’s the ‘Jordan Reed effect’ that is going to take place in the draft,” Brooks said during the NFL Network’s telecast of the South team practice. “When you look at Evan Engram and (South Alabama tight end) Gerald Everett, you certainly can see where they could be the mismatch nightmares that people want on the perimeter.
