Analyst: Former Ole Miss DT D.J. Jones likely to exceed expectations

Former Ole Miss defensive tackle D.J. Jones had to wait to hear his name called in the 2017 NFL draft, but one analyst expects him to make an early impact.

NFL.com draft analyst Lance Zierlein picked Jones as one of his five late-round picks who’s most likely to outperform expectations in the 2017 season. Jones went to the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round, with the 198th pick overall.

Zierlein, who described Jones as a “quick, disruptive interior lineman with the type of foot quickness that can give offensive linemen problems,” said the former Rebel is closer to a third-round talent than a sixth-rounder.
