Wild sluggish for stretches in loss to Canucks

Canucks 3 / Wild 2 Next: vs. Jets, 3 p.m. Friday, FSN

For too long Wednesday night, the Wild played sluggishly. Their lethargic spurts were the main culprit in a 3-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks at the Xcel Energy Center.

Trailing 2-1 after two periods and forced to play a bit more desperately and aggressively in the third, the Canucks flipped that late Wild energy into a counterattack and a breakaway goal for Jannik Hansen, Vancouver's third goal of the night.

Minnesota suffered only its second loss in 10 home games this season.

Charlie Coyle, who might have been the Wild's best player Wednesday, deflected in a shot from Ryan Suter that brought Minnesota within a goal with 80 seconds remaining, but even with goalie Devan Dubnyk pulled for an extra skater and a power play for the final 32 seconds, they weren't able to tie the contest.
