Wild report: No answer for absent doctor in Denver

A day after medical protocol was botched at Colorado's Pepsi Center there was no answer as to why Wild forward Nino Niederreiter wasn't immediately checked for a concussion in the third period of Minnesota's 5-4 victory over the Avalanche.

Niederreiter whiffed on a check and went head first into the boards. He skated off the ice and went to the locker room, where the Wild expected he'd undergo concussion testing by one of the multiple doctors a home team is required to staff during NHL games.

But Niederreiter wasn't seen by a doctor until after the game, leaving him unable to play in the waning minutes of Thursday's contest.
