Training camp and preseason are underway, marking the official start of the NHL season. Sure, no meaningful games have been played yet, but hockey is back nonetheless. The Minnesota Wild are 1-1-0 thus far in the preseason. Losing to the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday and beating the Buffalo Sabres on Monday.
It has been a weird start to camp, as it has come at the same time as the World Cup of Hockey. Meaning several important players in the Wild lineup have only recently returned to practicing with the team while Nino Niederreiter and Team Europe play Canada in the final.
