When Jordyn Leopold wrote a letter asking the Minnesota Wild to acquire her father, 34-year-old defenseman Jordan Leopold, she had no idea the attention it would spark.
Word of the letter got out after the Wild traded for Leopold in early March, causing an explosion of interest on social media, on radio and TV and in newspapers. That letter has led to Jordyn, 11, doing the "Let's Play Hockey" call before a Wild game and doing an autograph signing of copies of the letter at Fan HQ in the Ridgedale Mall, along with her father.
Jordyn left for Las Vegas on Tuesday to take part in the NHL awards ceremony Wednesday at the MGM Grand.
