Wilderness Walk: Off The Earth Edition

Erik Haula wants $1.2M, but the Wild have other ideas offering $775k. Will he make a deal or choose what's behind door #2?

Numbers have been exchanged in the Erik Haula negotiations, and the sides still have a couple days before proceeding to the arbitration hearing. The arbitrator will render a decision on a winning party 48 hours following the hearing, but the sides can settle on a number any time up to that decision being announced. It's most likely the issue will be settled prior to the decision from the arbitrator as most are. Best guess is the sides settle around $1M, and it looks like the Wild have already opted to only make a 1 year offer, which means this will truly be a "prove-it" season for Haula and could possibly give him the motivation he needs to return to the form we saw in the 2013-14 postseason.
