EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — The Vikings traded up for the second time Friday night, this time snagging center Pat Elflein.

Minnesota sent their 79th pick (third round) and 160th pick (fifth round) to the Jets to move up nine spots and select the Ohio State lineman.

In a conference call with Twin Cities media, Elflein said he was thrilled to be exchanging his red jersey for a purple one. He believes his versatility and experience at both guard spots and center made him an attractive pick for the Vikings, and he’s determined to affirm their decision.
