In about two months, the Minnesota Vikings and 31 other NFL teams will be making their selections in the 2017 NFL Draft. As of right now, the Vikings will not be making their first pick until the draft’s second round after trading away this year’s first-round selection to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for quarterback Sam Bradford last September.
In 2006, Minnesota hired Rick Spielman to be the team’s new vice president of player personnel. Prior to the 2012 season, the Vikings promoted Spielman to general manager and he has held that same position ever since.
