June 28, 2016, was officially proclaimed to be Mackensie Alexander Day by the Board of County Commissioners of Collier County.
Just five days after being drafted 54th overall, Alexander gave back to his hometown by speaking to the youth of the Collier County Boys & Girls Clubs and partnering with Adidas to donate $10,000 of athletic equipment to the clubs.
“I know how it was when I was a child,” Alexander said after the gesture. “Knowing how I felt and how these kids are going to feel, it’s going to be good, just having somebody to follow.
