Adrian Peterson responds: he wants a 'secure future', not a trade

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson made a statement about his current situation and clarified why he's holding out of Organized Team Activities.

Earlier today we told you how Mike Zimmer felt about Adrian Peterson holding out of the team's OTAs. And in true Zimmer fashion, he kept it real and straight to the point--either AP was playing in Minnesota this season or he wasn't playing at all. (As if we needed another reason to love the no-nonsense Vikings head coach.) But since this team is obviously incapable of going more than 24 hours without some sort of headline-grabbing off-the-field news, Peterson has responded with a statement to ESPN reporter Josina Anderson:

The reason I'm not attending OTAs has nothing to do with wanting to be traded.
