FC Minneapolis to play match against Ugandan National Team

FC Minneapolis, a local non-league club that is bucking the trend of traditional lower-level soccer, has announced that the Lions will be traveling to Africa next March to play the Ugandan National Team.

The Cranes are ranked number 71 in the world by FIFA. They are currently sitting in second-place in their group for 2018 World Cup qualification, two points from a position that would mean a trip to Russia next summer. Colorado Rapids midfielder Michael Azira has been capped five times by Uganda, last appearing for them at the 2017 African Cup of Nations this past winter.
