Twins add seven to 40-man, lose Josmil Pinto, A.J. Achter

The Twins on Friday added seven players to their 40-man major league roster, protecting them from being taken in the Rule 5 Draft.

Right-handed pitchers J.T. Chargois and Yorman Landa, left-handed pitchers Pat Dean, Mason Melotakis, Taylor Rogers and Randy Rosario, and outfielder Adam Brett Walker were added to the 40-man, making them ineligible for the Dec. 10 minor-league player draft during the Winter Meetings in Nashville.

The Twins also announced that right-hander A.J. Achter was claimed off outright waivers by Philadelphia, and catcher Josmil Pinto was claimed off outright waivers by San Diego. The team now has 38 players on its major league roster.
