Angels squeeze by Twins in 12 after pair of infield misplays

So solid this season, the Twins' middle infield experienced a couple of rare and ill-timed blips Saturday afternoon.

Second baseman Brian Dozier booted Daniel Robertson's tapper to start the 12th inning, and shortstop Eduardo Escobar failed to snag Kole Calhoun's line drive that scored the go-ahead run as the Los Angeles Angels escaped with a 4-3 win in the first game of a doubleheader.

Dozier had made just one error in his previous 36 games and just six all season.

With their fourth straight loss, the Twins fell into a tie with the Angels for the sixth spot in the American League overall standings.
