Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe will go on paternity leave starting Wednesday to be with his wife, Olivia, who is expecting the couple's first child.
Infielder Jorge Polanco will be recalled from Triple-A Rochester, manager Paul Molitor said after Tuesday's 8-7 loss to Pittsburgh.
"At least over the next couple days, I think it's three max," Molitor said. "We'll see how that goes."
The birth of the Plouffes' baby boy is expected Wednesday. His wife was due Saturday.
