Twins: Blaine Boyer confident he has fixed his timing problem

Saddled with a 15.00 earned-run average after four outings, Blaine Boyer believes he has fixed the problem.

"It was a timing issue I've been dealing with ever since the season started," the Twins' veteran right-hander said before Friday's game. "I was taking way too much time to get all my weight to my back leg. Everything was rushing. I had nothing behind the ball."

Boyer, who hadn't pitched since a rough weekend series in Chicago, where he took a tough-luck loss on Saturday and gave up a two-run homer on Sunday to Gordon Beckham.

"It's one of those situations you get every once in a while," Boyer said, "where your arm feels amazing, but yet for whatever reason you're not behind the ball at all.
