Plouffe to be placed on paternity list

Polanco, ranked as the No. 89 overall prospect by MLBPipeline.com, gets the call after hitting .284/.309/.352 with six doubles, six RBIs and a stolen base in 22 games at Triple-A. The 22-year-old also hit .301/.347/.409 with four homers, 14 doubles and 14 stolen bases in 67 games at Double-A Chattanooga.

It's the third time Polanco has been called up in his career, and he's hit .333 with a double, a triple and two walks in six career games with the Twins. He gives the club some infield flexibility, as they can continue to give rookie third baseman Miguel Sano's right ankle a rest if they decide to keep him at designated hitter.
