Minnesota Twins: Kohl Stewart goes on Class A disabled list

SEATTLE -- Right-hander Kohl Stewart, one of the Twins' top pitching prospects, was placed on the seven-day disabled list Thursday at Class A Fort Myers.

According to Brad Steil, Twins director of minor league operations, Stewart has been diagnosed with inflammation in his throwing elbow. The fourth overall pick in the 2013 draft, Stewart was off to a slow start with the Miracle, dropping his first two decisions despite posting a 3.10 earned-run average.

He struck out just two batters Tuesday in Jupiter, Fla., while working 6 1/3 innings and allowing four earned runs. He struck out just five batters in his first start this season, followed by three his second time out.
