Timberwolves' Wiggins part of NBA's Canadian invasion

Social media was buzzing on Sept. 25, the 15-year anniversary of Vince Carter's dunk over 7-foot-2 French center Frederic Weis in the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

It's one of basketball's most memorable dunks.

Earlier that year, Carter made his first NBA All-Star Game and put on arguably the most dazzling display of athleticism ever while winning the slam dunk contest, and he led the Toronto Raptors to their first playoff berth.

Carter inspired a generation of Canadian basketball players who would take the game to new heights more than a decade later, including Timberwolves wing and Toronto native Andrew Wiggins.
