Timberwolves waive three, including Lorenzo Brown

The Minnesota Timberwolves announced over the weekend that they were waiving three players, including 2013 second-round selection Lorenzo Brown.

In addition to Brown, the team released center Kleon Penn and guard Nick Wiggins. The latter two moves were no surprise, as both Penn and Wiggins were part of the training camp roster on non-guaranteed contracts.

The waiving of Brown isn’t really a surprise, either, as the team’s final roster spot was always going to come down to sharpshooting power forward Damjan Rudez, who was acquired over the summer from the Indiana Pacers in exchange for Chase Budinger, or Brown, who was ultimately the team’s fourth point guard.
