Ricky Rubio was none too happy with Arnie Kander, the Timberwolves' vice president of sports performance, over the weekend.
Rubio wanted to play Friday at Sacramento and again Sunday in Los Angeles against the Clippers, but Kander said he turned the Wolves point guard down both times because of a left ankle injury Rubio aggravated in a home win over Atlanta last Wednesday.
Rubio missed 43 games last season because of a severe injury to the same ankle, which eventually required arthroscopic surgery. That's why Kander has taken such a cautious approach with the point guard.
