Minnesota Timberwolves Select Trey Burke With Ninth Overall Pick in 2013 NBA Draft

The Minnesota Timberwolves have selected Trey Burke with the ninth overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.

Burke is the top point guard in this draft class, averaging 18.6 points and 6.7 assists for Michigan last year. He has range as good as anyone in the NBA today and is not at all afraid to flash it. He is a good passer with great ball skills and is a true point guard, but there is no getting around the fact that he is undersized. Not severely, standing at 6' 1" and 187 pounds, but undersized nonetheless. He will need to use his quickness to compensate for that and get into the lane, as you can't make a living in the NBA settling for pull-up jumpers.
