Marcus Fuller: Nothing wrong with Karl-Anthony Towns pick, but D'Angelo Russell could be better

When we look back at Thursday night's NBA draft five or six years from now, if Karl-Anthony Towns isn't the clear-cut, no-question, hands-down best player from this group, it shouldn't surprise you.

Odds are that the Timberwolves' No. 1 pick will be a big-time defender, solid rebounder and eventually a consistent enough scorer to be an all-star-caliber big man one day.

Towns just has too much upside to be a bust.

So imagine the franchise's top player, Andrew Wiggins, ascending to become one of the top 10 players in the NBA because he has a super sidekick in the paint.
