UMN gets 'high marks' for handling of Teague resignation

The University of Minnesota received "high marks" from a local public relations insider for its handling of athletics director Norwood Teague's resignation Friday, following claims that he sexually harassed two university employees.

Tim McNiff, a former KARE Channel 11 anchor who is now the executive director of public relations at Media Minefield, lauded the university's ability to get out in front of the story.

"We always say, 'First of all, you have to be honest, be as transparent as you can be,' " McNiff said. "You have to be proactive, you have to be honest and you have to just get out there and be in control.
