Minnesota Football: Nolan Edmonds medically retires

Nolan Edmonds announced that he is medically retiring from football after his freshman season for Gophers.

In high school, Edmonds committed early to the Gophers, then he decommitted after a visiting another Big Ten school but eventually decided he wanted to row the boat and signed with Minnesota. He did not participate in any games as a true freshman and now is forced to hang up his cleats before getting to play a Big Ten snap.

According to the Pioneer Press he will be able to continue with his education on scholarship that will not count against the team cap.
