Gophers football: Keanon Cooper leaves Hamline to be U grad assistant

Former Gophers linebacker Keanon Cooper has moved from assistant coach at Hamline to graduate assistant coach at Minnesota, he told the Pioneer Press.

"It means a lot to be back home and work in a program that gave me so much not only as a football player but as a man," Cooper said.

Cooper, who is from Dallas, played outside linebacker for head coaches Tim Brewster and Jerry Kill from 2008-12. Cooper was Hamline's linebackers coach last season.
