Former UMN wrestler Scott Schiller qualifies for Olympic trials

Former University of Minnesota wrestling standout Scott Schiller has qualified to compete in the upcoming U.S. Olympic Team Trials after advancing to the semifinals of the freestyle 213-pound weight class Saturday at the U.S. Nationals/U.S. Olympic Trials qualifer in Las Vegas.

The top seven wrestlers in each weight class qualify for the Olympic Team Trials on April 9-10 in Iowa City, Iowa.

Schiller, a 2010 graduate of West Fargo (N.D.) High School and a marketing administrator for the Gophers wrestling team, is a former three-time All-America honoree. He completed his collegiate career last spring with 118 wins --18th all-time in program history.
