Carter starts Brewers' second triple play of '16

MILWAUKEE -- For the second time this season, the Brewers helped starter Zach Davies out of a jam by turning three.

With runners at first and second base with no outs in the top of the first inning Friday at Miller Park, first baseman Chris Carter snagged Reds slugger Joey Votto's line drive -- 101 mph off the bat, according to Statcast™ -- and started the eighth triple play in Brewers history. Carter stepped on the bag to double-up Scott Schebler, before tossing the ball to shortstop Orlando Arcia covering second base to retire Jose Peraza for a sudden end to the Reds threat.
