With Chris Carter starting all but five games at first base this season for the Milwaukee Brewers, Andy Wilkins is well aware his opportunity for any playing time is most likely going to come elsewhere.
The good news is he's also a competent rightfielder, playing the position even more than he did first base — his natural position — at Class AAA Colorado Springs earlier this season. So while his nine plate appearances since being recalled July 6 have come off the bench, he remains on the radar as an option in right with Domingo Santana still 10 days or more away from returning.
