Wagner to get call from Double-A for start

MILWAUKEE -- Why did the Brewers dip down to Double-A to fill a hole in their starting rotation? It was simple, manager Craig Counsell said.

"He's the best guy right now," Counsell said while announcing Friday that 24-year-old right-hander Tyler Wagner will start Sunday's game against the D-backs, replacing the injured Wily Peralta.

Wagner was a fourth-round Draft pick in 2014 out of the University of Utah. He is No. 11 on MLB.com's list of the top 30 Brewers prospects and got the nod over Milwaukee's more experienced young arms by going 5-1 with a 2.
