The Brewers and Mets appeared to have made a trade. Apparently they didn't.
This is getting weird, now.
A few hours after everybody said that the Brewers and Mets had agreed to a trade that would see Carlos Gomez head to New York in exchange for pitcher Zack Wheeler and infielder Wilmer Flores, Mets general manager Sandy Alderson says that there is no deal and one will not be made before the trade deadline.
Sandy Alderson insists "there is no trade. Unfortunately, social media got ahead of the facts." Says Gomez deal "will not transpire.
