MILWAUKEE -- Brewers center fielder Carlos Gomez took swings in the batting cage Monday and expressed hope this stint on the disabled list will expire after the minimum 15 days. Gomez was placed on the DL retroactive to Wednesday with a right hamstring injury and is eligible to return May 1.
"Right now it is so far, so good," Gomez said in his first comments since the DL move. "I'm going to do everything that I'm supposed to do, like hitting [batting practice] and throwing. The last thing is going to be running.
"It's good so far.
