Leicester 2-2 Middlesbrough: Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani penalties rescue draw for champions after Alvaro Negredo ends barren spell with brace

Reigning Premier League champions Leicester left it late with a second penalty to rescue a stoppage time 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough at the King Power Stadium.

Alvaro Negredo ended his 10-game barren spell by opening the scoring for the visitors before Leicester rediscovered their form to equalise from the penalty spot through Riyad Mahrez after Calum Chambers' handball.

Jamie Vardy came close to ending his own scoring slump before being replaced by summer signing Islam Slimani who took over penalty responsibilities to earn a point from the penalty spot in stoppage time after Marten de Roon brought down Foxes captain Wes Morgan.
