MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Facing its biggest rival, the Middle Tennessee women's tennis was up for the challenge as they swept Western Kentucky, 7-0, Saturday afternoon at the Adams Tennis Complex.
The Blue Raiders improve to 10-9 overall this season and pick up their second Conference USA win of the season while WKU falls to 4-12 and 1-4 in conference play.
Before the match, the Raiders honored their lone senior Lidia Burrows, who only added to her magnificent career against the Hilltoppers, Saturday, as she paired with Lee Barnard for the clinching doubles win, 7-6 (7) as well as picking up the match-clinching singles win, 7-5, 6-4.
