Oakland's Oliver decommits from Mississippi State

Oakland safety Kaleb Oliver made his decommittment from the Mississippi State football program official on Monday.

Oliver had been committed to Mississippi State for the last eight months, but recently reopened his recruitment after Mississippi State defensive coordinator Peter Sirmon left the program for the same job at Louisville.

Sirmon's close relationship with Oliver has to make Louisville one of the favorites to land the 6-foot-3 senior - who is a four-star recruit according to Rivals.com. Oliver was also offered a scholarship to Ole Miss over the weekend.

He finished the 2016 campaign with 82 total tackles, three fumble recoveries, three sacks, three blocked kicks, and an interception for Oakland who finished the regular season undefeated before losing the Region 6A state title game to Whitehaven.
