Oakland softball beats Siegel 13-2

After initially being called out, Oakland's Gracie Kirby instead took a pitch out of the park to break open a close game against Siegel on Tuesday.

Kirby's five total RBIs helped power the Lady Patriots to a 13-2 win and first place in District 7 heading into a Thursday showdown with second-place Stewarts Creek.

Oakland pitcher Sophie Golliver went the distance to pick up her 10th win of the season.

With the game tied 1-1 in the third and one runner on base, Kirby hit a pop-up foul toward her team's dugout. Siegel catcher Hannah Millhorn made a hustle play to catch it right at the wall and the umpire called Kirby out.
