MTSU football team headed to Hawaii Bowl

MTSU will be headed to the islands again this bowl season.

The Blue Raiders, who played in the Popeyes Bahamas Bowl last year, accepted a bid on Sunday to play host Hawaii in the Hawaii Bowl (6-7) on Dec. 24. The game will be televised live on ESPN at 7 p.m.

The Blue Raiders finished the regular season 8-4 overall and 5-3 in Conference USA play despite losing starting quarterback Brent Stockstill for the last three-plus games.

It's uncertain if Stockstill will be able to return for the Hawaii Bowl as he is recovering from a broken collarbone.
