MTCS offense bogs down in 12-6 loss to King's Academy

With its offense bogged down on a soggy night, the Middle Tennessee Christian defense rose up before eventually wearing down in a 12-6 region loss to visiting King's Academy on Friday.

Starting Cougars quarterback Jackson Green is sidelined four to six weeks with a broken collarbone, coach Fred Shambaugh said.

So MTCS tried alternating wide receiver/cornerback Logan Brady in the shotgun, and running back Kemari McGowan taking direct snaps in the wildcat formation. The result was little sustained offensive production, leaving the defense on the field too long.

"Our defense played absolutely wonderful, but our offense really didn't help us out much," Shambaugh said.
