Blackman's baseball team had a great regular season and postseason run, but it wasn't the Blaze's day on Wednesday at Siegel High School.
The Blaze were eliminated in the Class AAA state tournament, falling 4-3 to Kingsport Dobyns Bennett after losing a gut-wrenching 6-2 game to Brentwood earlier in the day,
In a wild and wacky game against Dobyns Bennett, who the Blaze beat in the tournament opener, Blackman thought it had jumped out to an early three-run lead when DJ Wright laced a pitch over the fence.
However, it was called fouled much to the disagreement of the Blaze coaching staff, and Dobyns Bennett went to build a three-run lead after four innings.
