MAC ANNOUNCES DISTINGUISHED SCHOLAR ATHLETES Cleveland, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced today the Distinguished Scholar Athletes from the seven fall sports during this 2017-18 academic season as 127 students were voted by faculty athletic representatives at MAC institutions representing the ‘best of the best’ from each sports Academic All-MAC Teams. Leading the way were 30 MAC football students named as Distinguished Scholar Athletes. MAC women’s soccer had 25 selections, while women’s cross country collected 18 honorees and volleyball added 17 selections. MAC field hockey had 14 students named as Distinguished Scholar Athletes, while men’s soccer had 12 selections and men’s cross country had 11 honorees.
