Western Michigan continued their hot shooting from Tuesday’s win over Toledo. Kent State was on fire, too. The two teams battled in the first half, with WMU finally pulling out a 44-41 lead at intermission.
The Broncos pulled away early in the second half, eventually stretching the lead to 13 on a Seth Dugan layup with 11 minutes to go. Kent State was able to get within 2 with 4 minutes to go, before WMU stretched the lead to 8 with one minute, 27 seconds left.
Kent State made a spirited effort led by Jimmy Hall’s 6 straight points that closed the gap to 2 with 27 seconds left.
